Peace & Inspiration on the Oregon Coast
Under a spell of centuries of wind and waves, Cape Perpetua awaits. Here you’ll find The Carriage House, an enchanted cottage with views of tiny Dragons Cove, Laughing Gull Island, and the majestic Perpetua headland, highest point on the Oregon coast.
It’s hard to imagine a more pristine oceanfront setting. Two dozen harbor seals congregate and birth their young on the island. Cormorants, gulls, ravens, eagles, and the red-tailed hawk all love the cove. We see whales and sometimes even sea lions. A few times, a river otter.
Cape Perpetua is the westernmost point of the massive–over 634,000 acres– Oregon wilderness, the Siuslaw National Forest. There are miles of scenic hiking trails.
The Carriage House is up one flight of stairs. It is studio space above a 3 car garage. There is a graceful twisted juniper bed (queen sized) in the bed alcove, bathroom with shower (no tub), sun room with booth and table, kitchenette with sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave. There is no range. Suitable for 1 or 2 people. No smoking or pets.
Personal Retreat:
The profound beauty of such untamed Nature stuns and inspires. It is a catalyst for epiphany in the midst of solitude. This spellbinding beauty is conducive to dreaming, reflecting, and contemplation. You can rest deeply while ideas and solutions ease themselves into your consciousness. Artists find their vision is enhanced. Writers recharge. Crafters are buoyed by creative energies.
Romantic Getaway:
It’s detached from the main house and has the amenities you need to be comfortable. Explore Dragons Cove at low tide. Collect agates and shells. Snuggle together and watch as the island gulls rise in unison, gliding and swaying in the cove updraft. Marvel that they don’t run into one another. Blow bubbles from the balcony. Partake in the epicurean delights found at any of the many good restaurants in Yachats. Enjoy soft twilight and the lively song of the waterfall frogs.

Gordon2022-12-11Verified The perfect spot for a quiet, winter weekend at the coast. Clean, cozy, uniquely decorated. The views are sublime. Walk down to your own private beach and breakers. 5 minute drive into Yachats for good food and stores. Short drive to fantastic hiking trails and ocean spots. Absolutely, a wonderful experience all around! Celeste2022-11-26Verified An absolutely magical location with equally mystifying decor. Small and intimate, it is the perfect place for couples or a solo coastal adventure! Michelle2022-11-23Verified This was a lovely and unique place to stay with its dragon motif and incredible location. The view! Holy smokes, it is truly breathtaking. Things were clean and check in was straight forward. I have to say I am used to a few more amenities, such as tea and at least a bar of soap. Overall, though, I enjoyed my stay thoroughly and would visit again in the future. Rebecca2022-11-20Verified This was quite possibly my favorite bnb I've ever stayed in. Photos did not do this place justice!! My partner and I came here to celebrate our 7th year anniversary, and could not have been more pleased. Our mouths dropped when we walked in. The incredible view, the cozy decor, the proximity to town while being super private - this place is truly a gem. So grateful we were able to spend time here. A special place we will remember forever! <3 Matt2022-11-13Verified A fun apartment with incredibly inspiring views in a magical town. Alice2022-11-11Verified This was by far the best experience I’ve ever had with an Airbnb. The check in/checkout process couldn’t have been easier and Dan was helpful and responded quickly. The moment you step out of your car and get a look at the view from this place, I guarantee you it will take your breath away. Selfishly wish I could keep this place a secret, but anyone and everyone should be able to press “pause” and escape to this corner of the world. An important note: if the weather permits, you should absolutely take some hikes nearby. Amanda’s Trail and the Giant Spruce were two of our favorites. ALSO, please try the Nutella Coffee from the the Village Bean coffee shop, you won’t regret it (they brew coffee with Nutella, drooling just thinking about it). In summary: stay here, you won’t regret it. Logan2022-11-05Verified If you for a quiet and beautiful place to stay this is it the cottage looks awesome, and has an amazing view of the ocean, the host took very good care of us we had a problem at one point and the owner drove 2 hours just to help us in the middle of the night. I can’t not recommend this place enough. Kevin2022-10-23Verified Wonderful place with a spectacular view, quiet and serene. Tina2022-10-16Verified We loved this spacious, cozy comfortable, well decorated and themed studio space and were very happy to call it our home while exploring the Yachats area. Amazing ocean views and rocky beach access right on the property. Well equipped kitchen despite having no range. Good size fridge, and small appliances such as single burner, and small air fryer make cooking possible. Close to good dining out options too. Will definitely return! Jeanne2022-10-13Verified You will never find a more enchanting space nor a more beautiful view. If you stay here be sure to visit the story of Amanda and find her in the forest. We all need this reminder.
